The electric ‘After Rain’ and opening track ‘Do You Love Me’ recall legendary divas of funk Betty Davis and Marva Whitney, while the standout track, the hauntingly delicate ‘Pieces of My Heart’, wouldn’t sound out of place on a Dionne Warwick record.
